Naples is located almost centrally located on the gulf, between Vesuvius and the volcanic area of Campi Flegrei in a scenario called "the most celebrated and beautiful in the world." Its vast artistic and architectural heritage is protected by UNESCO, whose commissions have included since 1995 the historical center of Naples, the largest in Europe, including world heritage sites.
Naples, an ideal place for leisure literature according to the Romans, is the third Italian city for the extension. The old town still follows the path of the ancient Roman roads, and is divided along Via Toledo, one of the most important and ancient streets of the city. The hill of Vomero ensure the city with its luxury homes, museums and neighborhoods "good" of Chiaia, beyond which lies the long avenue of green public gardens.
The National Archaeological Museum is a major cultural attractions of Naples. The ground floor of the museum houses the Farnese collection of sculptures, statues of the imperial age, while in the mezzanine floor is the collection of Roman mosaics. The Hall of Meridian hosts a collection of Roman statues, murals and furniture commonly used in the ancient city bells.
The urban complex of Piazza Municipio, Piazza Plebiscito and the Royal Palace is another resource the most interesting of Naples. Just Piazza Municipio, close to the port Beverello lies the profile of New Castle or "Angevin" erected in 1282 by the Anjou and later became a royal residence by the Aragonese.
Nearby is the famous Teatro San Carlo , the largest opera house in Italy and one of the largest in the world, and Piazza Plebiscito with characteristic similar to the semicircular colonnade designed by Bernini for St. Peter's Square. Opposite is the Palazzo Reale, built by Domenico Fontana in 1600-1602 to accommodate Philip II.
Another museum complex that is worth visiting the National Museum, a magnificent collection of Renaissance paintings hosted by the Royal Palace of Capodimonte recalls the sumptuousness of the most famous Palace of Caserta.Una goal, the latter can not be ignored if you are in Naples.
